We believe Business Consulting should change what you do on Monday morning

Most consulting engagements produce a slide deck and a handshake. Ours produce a different operating rhythm within the first six weeks. We work with owner-managed UK businesses between ten and two hundred employees, and we stay until the numbers move.

That is not a marketing line. It is the reason half our clients came through referrals from the other half.

"They sat in our board meeting, asked three questions nobody had asked before, and within a month our gross margin had shifted by four points."— Finance director, a Midlands manufacturing firm, 2024
6 weeks average to first measurable change

Six principles we will not compromise on

Diagnosis before prescription

We spend the first two weeks inside your business: shadowing meetings, reading P&Ls line by line, talking to the people who do the work. No framework gets applied until we understand what is actually happening.

Revenue is the scoreboard

Strategy that does not eventually show up in revenue or margin is decoration. Every recommendation we make ties back to a financial outcome you can track in your own management accounts.

Fewer slides, more decisions

Our deliverables are decision memos, not decks. One page, one recommendation, the evidence behind it, and the risks of doing nothing. You read it in five minutes and decide.

Your team runs it, not ours

We build the plan with your people, not around them. When we leave, the capability stays. If it does not, we failed, and we come back at no charge to fix it. That clause is in every engagement letter we send.

Honest timelines

Some problems take three months. Some take a year. We tell you which on day one, and we have walked away from prospects who wanted a twelve-month problem solved in four weeks.

Skin in the game

A portion of our fee is tied to outcomes we agree together before the engagement starts. If the numbers do not move, our invoice shrinks. That is how we stay honest.

We work where you work, not from a distant office tower.

Capability map

We do not sell packages. We match capability to problem. Here is what we can bring to the table, and roughly when each type of work pays for itself.

Capability Typical engagement Payback horizon Best fit for
Profit-leak diagnosis 3–4 weeks 60 days Businesses with flat revenue but shrinking margin
Pricing architecture 5–8 weeks 90 days Service firms undercharging without knowing it
Sales process rebuild 8–12 weeks Two quarters Teams closing under 15% of qualified leads
Operating model redesign 10–16 weeks Six months Companies that have outgrown their original structure
Leadership alignment Ongoing, monthly Continuous Founder-led businesses adding a senior layer
Exit readiness review 6–10 weeks At transaction Owners planning a sale within 18 months

What the first ninety days look like

Week one: the listening sprint

We interview your leadership team, review the last twelve months of financials, and observe how decisions actually get made. No surveys, no questionnaires. Conversations.

Weeks two to three: the diagnosis memo

You receive a single document: what we found, what it is costing you, and what we recommend doing first. We present it in person and answer every challenge.

Weeks four to eight: build and test

We work alongside your team to implement the first changes. This might mean rebuilding a pricing model in a spreadsheet, restructuring a weekly meeting cadence, or rewriting a proposal template. Concrete, not conceptual.

Weeks nine to twelve: measure and hand over

We compare the numbers before and after. If the change is working, we document the new process and train whoever owns it going forward. If it is not working, we adjust before we leave.

Is this the right time?

You might not need us if

  • Your business is pre-revenue and still searching for product-market fit
  • You want a consultant to validate a decision you have already made
  • Your primary need is a brand refresh or marketing campaign
  • You are looking for someone to write a business plan for investors

We are probably a good fit if

  • Revenue has plateaued and you cannot pinpoint why
  • You are growing but profitability is not keeping pace
  • Your team is busy but output feels disconnected from results
  • You are preparing the business for sale, succession, or a new phase
  • You have tried internal fixes and they have not stuck
